With your support, the Zoo is restoring wildlife habitat, providing life-saving veterinary care, and supporting communities and wildlife through locally led action in Africa, Asia, and the Americas. We’re also protecting our most endangered animals right here at home like Houston toads, Attwater’s prairie chickens, and sea turtles along our coast.

Pro-tip: Add your digital membership card to Apple Wallet for quick and seamless entry when visiting the Zoo. To add your card to Apple Wallet:

  1. Log into your Member Portal
  2. Click the Add to Apple Wallet button to download
  3. Choose Allow and then Add to your wallet. Then you’re all set!

When can I use my membership to get into the Zoo?

Members do not need a reservation to visit the Zoo. Upon arrival at the Zoo, you will enter through our Member Entrance and present your digital membership card. If you have questions about your membership, please contact our member services team: membership@houstonzoo.org.

What sort of discounts does my membership include?

Members enjoy discounts on gift shop purchases, additional admission tickets for guests, TXU Energy presents Zoo Lights tickets, special events, education programming and more. You must be logged in to apply your discount to purchases made online.

What other zoos and aquariums may I access with my Houston Zoo membership?

How do I log into my Membership account?

To access your digital membership card, log in to your Member Portal, and click on Membership Cards under General Options. If you have questions about your membership, please contact our member services team: membership@houstonzoo.org.

How long is my membership valid?

Your membership is valid until the end of the month one year from the date of purchase. For example, if you purchase a membership in June, it will be valid until June 30 the following year.

How may I add or change a name on my account?

As a courtesy, we are able to perform a one-time change to the additional named adult(s) on your membership account. The primary member on the account must contact us at membership@houstonzoo.org so we can assist with this.

Can I renew my membership in person?

All membership sales are online. To renew, simply log into your Member Portal and select the “renew” button on the homepage.

Is my membership tax deductible?

Yes! Estimated Fair Market Value of Benefits: All costs may be considered a contribution to the Houston Zoo, Inc., a Section 501(c)(3) charity. The Internal Revenue Service has issued guidelines that affect the charitable contribution portion of memberships. Under those guidelines, Members may claim the amount of their membership fee, less the fair market value of benefits received.

For Individual Plus, Family, and Senior 65+, the fair market value of benefits received is not substantial. The estimated fair market value of benefits received for other categories are: Family & Friends Premium $16; Asante Bronze $100; Asante Silver $330; Asante Gold $716; Asante Platinum $786; Asante Diamond: $1,938

Can I buy extra tickets not covered by my Zoo membership?

If you purchase additional tickets beyond the number of free tickets covered by your membership, you will receive discounted admission for extra guests that will adjust with Flex Pricing.
