‘Tis the Season for Zoo Lights

With all the holiday hustle and bustle, it’s the perfect time to take a break and enjoy the Houston Zoo’s, Zoo Lights. TXU Energy Presents Zoo Lights, celebrates its eighth year as one of Houston’s most well-loved holiday traditions. With this holiday season, the Houston Zoo is introducing several new additions to the Zoo Lights event.

New for the 2019 Zoo Lights season, Zoo Lights is now 2x brighter. Guests can enjoy the wonderful luminous lights, at twice the brightness. Earth-friendly LED lighting illuminate the Zoo and decorate the paths to light your way. Sip hot cocoa as you stroll through the beautiful Houston Zoo grounds and enjoy this holiday spectacular.

Infinity Tunnel of Light

Immerse yourself in lights by walking through the glimmering Infinity Tunnel of Light presented by KSBJ. Stroll through the 100-foot-long winding tunnel to capture the iridescent combination of tinsel and lights; making it the perfect place to capture a photo.


4-D Enchanted Forest

Experience the 4-D Enchanted Forest presented by King & Spalding with flowers created by pure imagination and bubbles that create a 4-D sensory experience with scented bubbles. Let your imagination run wild as you encounter the Enchanted Forest like never before.


Ice Dragon

Before you enter Winter Wonderland, stop by and see our new giant Ice Dragon. The dragon will come to life before you; just in time to snap a quick picture with the incredible beast.


Winter Wonderland

Kids and kids at heart can enjoy strolling through the magical Winter Wonderland presented by Houston Methodist and experience the newly featured “snow,” floating around; or become winter royalty and take pictures on the giant ice throne, all found within the Winter Wonderland.

Zoo Lights will continue to feature many classic holiday favorites, such as Candy the interactive talking Zoo Lights Zebra presented by H-E-B; or catching the trains at the Holiday Train Village presented by Macy’s. The perfect holiday picture could be awaiting at Santa and Mrs. Claus’s Workshop in Twiga Cafe.

Zoo Lights is a separately-ticketed event held daily starting at 5:30 p.m., running through Jan. 12. Buy tickets early for the best price. May all your nights be merry and bright!
