Houston’s must-visit fall tradition is here! Get ready for Zoo Boo presented by King & Spalding at Houston Zoo. Grab your costume, gather your crew and get ready for fall fun and a little spooky magic. Here’s what you need to know before you go.

 2. Stay for the Spooky Sparkle: More Zoo Boo Extended Hours Nights! 👻

No tricks here! You’ll get to enjoy MORE Zoo Boo Extended Hours nights! Starting September 25, you can enjoy Zoo Boo during regular daytime hours and extend the fun until 9:30 p.m., with last entry at 8:00 p.m. 

And there’s a different theme to get excited about throughout the season. Wizard Night is perfect for witches and wizards, while H-Town Sports Night lets you rep your city. Feeling heroic? Come for Superheroes Night, or step into another world during Fairytale, Galactic, Safari, Game, Carnival, Villains and Pop Icons Nights. 

So grab your crew, dress for the theme and make a night of it!

 

3. Get Ready for Some Gourd Times  

There’s more to explore at Zoo Boo this year! Wander through the Zoo and discover new experiences, returning favorites and plenty of fall surprises along the way. 

Start with a stop at the NEW Giant Pumpkin and Pumpkin Arch presented by King & Spalding, then keep exploring to find Carved Pumpkins sponsored by Frost Bank, NEW Peek-a-Boo Pumpkins, an Animatronic Pumpkin and Talking Pumpkins that come to life. 

Feeling brave? Head to Ghost Town at John P. McGovern Children’s Zoo for even more spooky magic.

4. Give ‘Em Pumpkin to Talk About  

The pumpkins aren’t just for decorating. Our animals get in on the fall fun too. 5. Come Hungry!

A trip to Zoo Boo calls for the best fall snacks and drinks. Keep an eye out for fall-inspired food and drinks available throughout the Zoo, along with favorites to keep everyone fueled for more exploring. 

And if you find a treat you love, consider it part of the tradition. Because a trip to Zoo Boo without a treat? That’s just not very sweet.

6. Navigate Parking Your Broom 🧹

With cooler temps and fall festivities, traffic and finding parking for your broom will be busier around the Zoo and Hermann Park. To help you avoid increased traffic, allow for extra time and check out our recommended parking options, including broom-pooling, rideshare, the 6400 Fannin Parking Garage (at Fannin and Cambridge) and the METRORail.

To get to Houston Zoo from the METRORail, you’ll need to ride the Red Line, exit Memorial Hermann Hospital/Houston Zoo. You can walk through the Commons at Hermann Park to reach the Zoo’s main entrance from both the METRORail stop and parking garage.

Zoo Boo is included with general admission and FREE for Houston Zoo members. If you want to come back for more fall fun, membership makes it easy to keep the good times going all year long.
