



On Tuesday June 18 the Kipp Aquarium will close early at 5:30.
The new naked mole rat exhibit in Natural Encounters is nearing completion!
We’re re-doing the macaw enclosures near the front entrance to make them even nicer for the birds and for our guests to see them! Please pardon our mess.
Something new is coming to our Children’s Zoo in place of the prairie dog exhibit. Stay tuned for details.

Kathrine McGovern Water Play Park
Now open for the season 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. if the air temperature is 70 degrees or above. May close due to bad weather or for water sanitation/clean up.

The Houston Zoo is located in Hermann Park adjacent to the Texas Medical Center and the Museum District. There are two entrances to the zoo:
Our Main Entrance and parking lot is located at:

Our Medical Center Entrance, located on Cambridge Street across from Ben Taub Hospital, provides convenient dropoff, pickup and pedestrian access (There is no parking at this gate). This gate is open only on weekends and major holidays.
Catch METRORail at the Fannin South Park & Ride lot (1604 West Bellfort between Knight and Fannin), or park in a Downtown parking lot, and head to the METRORail station.
Exit Hermann Park/Rice U Station (at Fannin and Sunset) or Memorial Hermann Hospital/Houston Zoo Station (on Fannin between Cambridge and Ross Sterling).
A great reason to go green and ride METRO: save $2 off an adult admission and $1 off a child’s admission when you present your Q Card, METRO bus, or METRORail ticket at the Zoo admission booth!
