Saturdays & Sundays: Daytime Parking Option
We have extended this off-site parking for a limited time.

Parking is $6 per car. Free shuttle, easy in, easy out!
Shuttle runs continuously from 10 a.m. to the zoo (early birds: park in the lots outside the zoo to enter at 9 a.m.!)
Free parking is available outside the zoo’s main entrance on Hermann Park Drive. These free parking lots are part of Hermann Park and are not owned or operated by the zoo.
On busy days, these lots can fill quickly; parking may be available in other Hermann Park lots:
Directions to the Zoo
The Houston Zoo is located in Hermann Park adjacent to the Texas Medical Center and the Museum District. We have two entrances:
Our Main Entrance and parking lot is located at:
6200 Hermann Park Drive, Houston, Texas 77030
Our Medical Center Entrance is located on Cambridge Street across from Ben Taub Hospital, and is open only on weekends and major holidays. It provides convenient dropoff, pickup and pedestrian access (There is no parking at this gate).

Summer Hours begin Sunday, March 13
9 a.m. – 7 p.m., Last entry 6 p.m.
The Houston Zoo is open seven days a week, 364 days a year. We are closed on Christmas Day. We close early on Christmas eve, and are closed during the day on Thanksgiving Day.
Special Exhibit and Activity Times
Washed Ashore and the Brown Education Center close at 5 p.m.
Giraffe Feeding Platform: 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
May close due to weather conditions and giraffe participation.

Now closed for the season.
Open April 1 – October 31, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Naturally Wild Swap Shop
9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Reptile and Amphibian House: Opens at 10:00 a.m.
Tropical Bird House: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Bug House: Opens at 9:30 a.m.
Petting yard inside the Children’s Zoo: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Exit Hermann Park/Rice U Station (at Fannin and Sunset) or Memorial Hermann Hospital/Houston Zoo Station (on Fannin between Cambridge and Ross Sterling).
A great reason to go green and ride METRO: save $2 off an adult admission and $1 off a child’s admission when you present your Q Card, METRO bus, or METRORail ticket at the zoo admission booth!
There is a Houston B-cycle bicycle station in Hermann Park outside the zoo. Houston B-cycle is a “bike sharing” program that works as an additional transportation alternative for people living in or visiting Houston. For more information visit the Houston B-cycle website.
