Ambassador Animal Request
Temperature Guidelines*
I understand that each species has temperature guidelines set for their optimum welfare and will ensure that space has been considered for protection from the elements.
Animals at the Event*
I will have staff available to greet the handler and indicate wherer they should set up. I understand that a space set against a structure or table is optimal so that guests cannot approach the animal from behind.
Handling Times*
I understand that maximum handling time for each animal is 30 minutes. I will also allow volunteers 15 minutes for transport time. I understand that if an animal shows discomfort or distress, the volunteer will immediately take the animal back to the Animal Ambassador Building.
After-Hours Events*
I understand that if the event is after hours, it is my responsibility to contact Children's Zoo supervisors to ensure there will be keepers present for animal pick-up and drop-off. Volunteers are not able to put animals away on their own.
