Northern White-Cheeked Gibbon

White-cheeked gibbons are critically endangered, and their numbers have declined by 80 percent or more over the past 45 years, primarily due to habitat loss and poaching. The Houston Zoo helps out by providing support in Vietnam for the training and educating of local law enforcement to more effectively carry out wildlife-saving actions.
