Fleet Week Houston – From Sea to Sea Lions
330 Servicemen and Women Visit the Houston Zoo and Engage with Wildlife
A little rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the 330 U.S. Navy, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen and women who traded their time ashore for a day at the Houston Zoo during Fleet Week Houston. On April 21, despite the passing showers, the servicemen and women explored the Zoo, connected with wildlife, and got to see how some animals enjoy the wet Houston weather.
After exploring all the Zoo has to offer, the group ended their Zoo day with a special sea lion presentation where they learned more about their care, personalities, conservation challenges, and the importance of protecting their natural habitat—the one ocean we all share.
The Zoo extends its deepest gratitude to all the Navy, Marines and Coast Guardsmen for their service.
