Flock - The Houston Zoo's Young Supporters Group

Come Join the Flock!

Flock is a group of young professionals, 21 and up, who are committed to the stewardship and growth of the Houston Zoo. Through a variety of social and educational events, Flock strives to inspire new generations of Houston Zoo supporters.

With their annual donation, Flock members receive free admission to three cocktail events tucked between the Zoo’s ‘wild’ exhibits, as well as unique volunteer opportunities, Zoo membership, and other exclusive benefits.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Beastly Brunch on February 28, 2010

Approximately 150 young urban professionals enjoyed a sun-filled day as they explored the Houston Zoo. Guests ate brunch and then went on to watch piranhas and orangutans eat their lunch during special presentations.

To end the day, two lucky Flock members were chosen to participate in a tiger feeding with Pandu, one of the Zoo’s handsome Malayan tigers. Kent Oliver and Jesse Bounds fed Pandu meat from the end of a stick and squirted goat’s milk into his mouth!

The young urbanites had such a great time that after the event was over, they didn’t leave! Many stayed and explored the rest of the Zoo – including rides on the carousel and trips to the petting zoo.

Flock members and their guests enjoyed brunch from Amazon Grill, cocktails from Ty Ku and Maker’s Mark, and the crowd-moving beats of DJ Dave Wrangler. It was certainly a Sunday Fun-day at the Zoo!
