Smash Mouth Performs on the H-E-B Stage

Collectively the band Smash Mouth has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide. Along with their number one hits – Walkin’ on the Sun and All Star – they have consistently impacted radio with other recognizable hits like Then the Morning Comes, Can’t Get Enough Of You Baby, and a cover of The Monkees classic I’m a Believer, which was prominently featured on the Shrek soundtrack (4, Billboard Adult Top 40).

A quick listen to their music and you realize the multi-platinum Smash Mouth is a 60s influenced garage band with a keen pop sensibility that maintains a timeless quality, a style they have created and that is all their own.

Having long since established itself as the ultimate true-to-life California party-band the vibe surrounding Smash Mouth is indeed – at its core – about having fun.

“When we play it’s a nonstop party,” Harwell says.

About Feast with the Beasts

Launched in the fall of 2006 as a fundraiser for the Houston Zoo, Feast with the Beasts was an instant hit! The Zoo’s naturally wild environment and 6,000 animals offer an unprecedented venue for this wine, beer and food event.

The 2006 event had 33 restaurant participants. The event has grown to feature more than 60 Houston-area restaurants, all serving their best dish, plus a live concert performance.

In 2008 we added the Beastly Battle – a chance for guests to vote for their favorite cuisine. In 2009 we added a Dessert Corner featuring sweet treats.

We’ve had sell-out crowds for the past three years, welcoming over 4,000 guests each year. Tickets sold out weeks in advance. With great restaurants like Taste of Texas, The Melting Pot and more, plus a rockin’ show, Feast with the Beasts is the place to be!

About the Houston Zoo

The Houston Zoo is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a fun, unique, and inspirational experience fostering appreciation, knowledge, and care for the natural world. Fundraising is essential to the Houston Zoo, and we could not continue our mission without support from the Houston community.

Feast with the Beasts is not only a much-talked about and well-loved annual event, but also one of the Houston Zoo’s largest fundraisers of the year. This event raised almost $1,000,000 in its first three years! All money raised goes to the Houston Zoo’s conservation, education, and animal care programs.
