About this Encounter

Join a keeper and learn unique characteristics of each of our gorillas by visiting a staff only area behind the gorilla habitat. Take a glimpse into a gorilla bedroom, stop by the kitchen to see what’s on the menu for the day, or take a look at their favorite toys and enrichment items. Hear all about the amazing bond of trust these animals have with their keepers, and discover how you can save gorilla habitat in the wild (*hint: it involves your old cell phone).

Special Note

All guests who participate in Behind the Scenes at Gorillas are required to wear a face mask in order to protect the gorillas from any human disease risks. Gorillas are one of our closest living relatives with a genetic difference to humans of only 1.6%. This greatly increases their susceptibility to infection from human pathogens.
