World Oceans Day is on Tuesday, June 8! Celebrate with us a few days early with a fun scavenger hunt for Zoo visitors to do onsite this weekend, June 5-6. It can be accessed through a special QR code placed throughout the Zoo, and you can join the game from your phone. Participants will have the chance to win a prize pack!
This event is free to the public with paid Zoo admission and free for members.
How You Can Help
You can help protect our oceans and the animals that live in the wild by opting for reusable water bottles, shopping bags, skipping the straw, and more. The Houston Zoo is single-use plastic bag, bottle, and straw free. We are saving an estimated 300,000 plastic water bottles from ending up in the ocean that could harm animals like sea lions and sea turtles. During your next Zoo visit, bring along your own reusable bottle (or several!) to help save animals in the wild.
Stay tuned for updates on our social pages this Tuesday, June 8, and learn how you can take action to help protect our oceans.
