GAME ON! at the Houston Zoo presented by TXU Energy is an outdoor escape room-style experience that will have you using your wits to solve challenging puzzles with a team of clever friends or family. This 21 and up experience will take place after hours and food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Tooth & Claw:
Nocturnal creatures aren’t bad, just misunderstood! This edition of GAME ON! focuses on biodiversity by shining a light on bats, bugs, and wolves.

  • *Giraffe Feeding, 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Bug House Keeper Talk, 7:00-7:30 p.m.
  • Bat Monitoring Keeper Talk at Texas Wetlands, 7:00-7:30 p.m.
  • Dingo Ambassador Animal Keeper Talk at Cypress Circle, 6:30-7:00 p.m.

*Guests will need to purchase tickets for giraffe feedings.

Tickets are no longer available for this event.

Important Information:

Adults 21+ only. No one under 21 will be permitted to attend the experience.

First timed ticket entry at 6:00-6:30 p.m. Last timed ticket entry at 7:00-7:30 p.m. You’ll be able to enjoy the Zoo until 9:30 p.m. Entries will be limited in capacity and staggered in 30-minute intervals to accommodate social distancing.

What steps is the Houston Zoo taking in regards to COVID-19 safety?

  • The Zoo has visual social distancing reminders placed to ensure guests maintain a safe social distance along the pathway.
  • Free hand sanitizer stations are positioned at the entry, exit, and restrooms.
  • If a guest feels sick before their reservation, we ask that they not visit the Zoo.

Where should I park?

Our main parking lot is located at 6200 Hermann Park Drive, and parking will be available throughout the Hermann Park parking areas.

Which Zoo entrances will be open?

Please enter through the Zoo’s Main Entrance. The Medical Center Entrance will not be open.

Is the entire Zoo open during the entire event time?

The Zoo will be divided into four zones for playing the game and there will be a one-way path within those zones. The more open areas of the Zoo will be open for two-way traffic. Your game will take place in two of the zones, but you are welcome to visit all four zones. There will be multiple versions of the GAME ON! experience taking place at the same time, so do not worry if you see clue signage that does not apply to your game.

Do I need to print my ticket(s)?

Present the digital ticket on your mobile device to scan for entry. By going paperless, you are helping save local animals, like black bears, in the wild!

What do I need to bring?

Cell Phone Required

This event REQUIRES a cell phone with data to participate. You will need one per team, fully charged. You will be watching videos and completing tasks through your phone. Phone charging stations are not available.

Can I rent a wheelchair or motorized scooter for the evening?

Yes. Wheelchairs and motorized scooters will be available for rent at the front of the Zoo. Rentals may be paid via credit card only.

What is the dress attire?

Casual. Dress for the weather. Please remember you will be outside and walking, so comfortable shoes for walking are recommended.

Can I purchase drinks at each event?

Yes. Beer, hard seltzer, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at various locations throughout the Zoo. Debit or credit cards only.

What happens if it rains?

This event is rain or shine. There are no refunds.

What if I have to cancel prior to the event?

All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
