You Can Take Action Everyday

Learn about our programs for saving Texas species, as well as animals from around the world. There are many ways you can help us save animals and their habitats.

Away from the zoo, there are a number of different ways you can personally Take Action at home or on the road to help protect wildlife and wildlife habitat by engaging in earth-friendly activities such as planting a Wildscape in your backyard or neighborhood. Texas is a major migratory route for birds and butterflies coming out of the south every spring and sits in the middle of two of the four major "flyways". Developing bird and butterfly friendly areas is one easy way to help support these migrations.

You can support natural resources by following a few of our Conservation Tips by making conservation a way of life. Simple things you can do daily include recycling, saving water and electricity. A number of recycling efforts such as Cell Phone Recycling can both protect the environment by keeping toxic waste out of our landfills and raise support for the zoo's conservation programs. Click on the link for more information.

By making the conservation of natural resources a habit, and not an effort, they will become part of your daily routine. A few small actions in our everyday activities, can make a difference.
