On the first Saturday of each month, Members can access the Zoo 1 hour before opening to the general public. Enjoy cooler weather and see the keepers prepare enrichment and exhibit areas all around the zoo. Then, visit and enjoy a special Meet the Keeper Talk Presented by Phillips 66 in the designated area at 8:30 a.m. Hear from one of our Zoo’s experts and gain professional insight about these select animals. Learn from the best in the field about what it really takes to care for the diverse animals that call the Zoo home!

This event is always FREE for Zoo Members, and there’s no need to RSVP – just show up and enjoy!

Brown Education Center Auditorium in the Houston Zoo

Enjoy a special presentation about the Houston Zoo’s efforts to protect marine habitat by two of our own experts at the Zoo!

Martha Parker, Conservation Impact Manager

Arrive early and enjoy a stroll in the Washed Ashore Exhibit before finding a seat in the Brown Education Center Auditorium for the 40 minute presentation, followed by a question and answer session and an Animal Ambassador appearance. You will have an opportunity to learn about the Sustainable Sea Food and the Plastic Recycling Initiatives created by Zoo staff.

This event is free, but space is limited, so please reserve your spot as soon as possible.

You must have a ticket to enter this event. Registration ends Wednesday, February 10 or when all spots are filled.

Special entrance through Gate 8 (just as you enter our main parking area from Hermann Park Drive) from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Presentation starts promptly at 9:30 a.m.
