Reconstruction of MacGregor Street

On January 5, the City of Houston began a 300 day project to rebuild and realign North and South MacGregor Street from the intersection of North MacGregor Way at the Dick Dowling statue to the intersection of Almeda Road.  When complete, the result will be additional acres of park land for Hermann Park.

If you are approaching the Zoo via State Highway 288, please consider taking the Holcombe exit rather than the MacGregor exit. Travel West on Holcombe to Main Street. Turn right on Main to North MacGregor Way. Turn right on North MacGregor Way and take a left on Hermann Park Drive to get to the Houston Zoo.
