About Paul Swen

Paul Swen is a Texas born photographer, director and sculptor whose passion for culture and travel have sent him exploring the planet for over 2 decades. Mr. Swen graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Fine Arts and immediately began to meld his wanderlust with creative expression. His journey has sent him to more than 30 countries, creating images for galleries as well as dozens of national and international clients. His work has earned countless awards and has appeared repeatedly in publications including Sports Illustrated, Forbes, Modern Luxury, The Wall Street Journal and Men's Health.

Paul's interest in the wilds of Africa began in earnest in 1998 on his first journey to the savannas of Tanzania. The depth of beauty and struggle became an immediate and continuing source of inspiration. Since that time he has joined numerous expeditions and conservation projects to explore and protect the cultures and wildlife that he so cherishes.

The Images of Africa exhibition is a combination of Mr. Swen's work throughout Africa along with an exclusive collection of photographs created for the Houston Zoo. The show delivers a keen insight between conservation projects and their direct link to wilderness.
