FIELD RESEARCH PROGRAM
Our research agenda is focused on investigating the many questions concerning the eagle’s behavior and reproduction, habitats, and other information on the eagle’s biology through the location of active nests and the monitoring of eagles in the wild. The program is also responsible for the retrieval and rescue of wildlife captured by local people.
COMMUNITY-BASED INITIATIVES PROGRAM
We work with marginal income families in the uplands to build local capability in addressing issue impacting welfare and to provide them with sustainable economic enterprises as livelihood alternatives. We operate on the premise that long-term solutions to sustainable resource management involve the empowerment of the upland communities.
PHILIPPINE EAGLE CENTER
Nestled at the foothills of majestic Mt. Apo, the Philippine Eagle Center is the Philippine Eagle Foundation’s facility for the care and propagation of the endangered Philippine Eagle. Primarily a research facility, the center is also a vital education venue and a key tourist attraction where visitors are given a glimpse of the country’s forest ecosystem. The Center houses Philippine Eagles and many other animal and plant species that are unique to the Philippines. Guests have a chance to appreciate the beauty of the rainforest and interact closely with various wildlife through lecture, tours and engaging activities.
OUR MISSION
The Philippine Eagle Foundation firmly believes that the fate of the Philippine Eagle, the health of our environment, and the quality of the Philippine life are inextricably linked. We are therefore committed to promote the survival of the Philippine Eagle, the biodiversity it represents, and the sustainable use of our forest resources for future generations to enjoy.
