Feast with the Beasts Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for purchasing tickets for the Houston Zoo’s fourth annual Feast with the Beasts. This year fifty restaurants will provide samples of their signature dishes and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will perform! All this set against the Zoo’s naturally wild backdrop, and this will certainly be an evening to remember.

Below are the answers to the most common questions we get:

  1. Remind me again when the event is? The event is Friday, November 6, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Food will be served from 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will perform after the food service.

  2. What all does my ticket include? Your admission ticket will allow you to enjoy sample-size food from any or all of the 50 participating restaurants, two beverages (Bud Light and [yellow tail] are our beverage sponsors), keeper chats, animal experiences, and live musical entertainment by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Additional beverages can be purchased for $5 each – be sure to bring cash!

  3. How old do I have to be to attend? This event is for guests 21 years of age and older. IDs will be checked prior to entry that night.

  4. Will there be any animal guests? There will be keeper chats and animal experiences scheduled throughout the evening.

  5. What is the Beastly Battle? As you sample food you’ll be able to vote for your favorite cuisine.  The restaurants who receive the most votes will win prizes.

  6. What is the attire? You can wear whatever you will be comfortable in – some people will wear cocktail dresses, some will wear jeans. Please remember that you will be outside and walking, so dress appropriately.

  7. Where do I park? Our main parking lot is located at 6200 Golf Course Drive.  Parking can be difficult, so we encourage you to carpool if possible.

  8. What happens if it rains? This event is rain or shine.

  9. What if I have to cancel prior to the event?  We’re sorry, but payment for this event is non-refundable.

  10. Is my ticket price tax deductible?  Fair market value of benefits received is $50 per ticket.  Support for Feast with the Beasts will be directed to the Houston Zoo’s conservation, education, and animal care programs.

  11. Who should I call if I have any other questions? Please feel free to call Christine Warren at (713) 533-6524 with event questions.  For questions about purchasing tickets or our online ordering system, please call Rick Ellis at (713) 533-6754.
