LEGO Party

Close

August 11, 2013

Join us at the LEGO Animals Assembled exhibit on Sunday, August 11, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for some fun LEGO-themed activities. Build on a baseplate for our LEGO art wall, work a LEGO puzzle, and more!

If you’re wondering how long it takes to build a life-size zebra or juvenile giraffe entirely from LEGO bricks, then look no further than the Houston Zoo. Did you know that there are only seven LEGO Master Builders in the United States, and one of them spent 27 hours to create the giraffe you can see in Animals Assembled Presented by Fiesta?

This exhibit will be here all summer long, so if you have a LEGO aficionado in your household, this is one experience you won’t want to miss!

Snow Day

Close

August 24, 2013

Back by popular demand, Snow Day is returning to the Zoo on Saturday, August 24 thanks to Sunny 99.1 and TXU Energy Presents Chill Out at the Houston Zoo! Guests can enjoy this winter wonder from 9 a.m. until noon (or until the Texas heat melts it away).

We will have two snow fields – a smaller field for the little ones and a larger field for the bigger kids – so this event is fun for the entire family. Kids of all ages can create their own snowman, make a snow angel or simply enjoy the cold snow on a hot summer’s day.

Sunny 99.1’s Jay Rodriguez will be joining us from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. to play in the snow and pass out special giveaways.

We will also announce the winner of the TXU Energy Ultimate Chill Out Adventure to Manitoba to see polar bears in the wild! Visit the sea lions habitat at 10 a.m. to watch as one of our sea lions chooses the winner of this once in a lifetime trip, all thanks to TXU Energy.
*Please note entry has been closed; our ten finalists have already been chosen.

All Snow Day activities are included in your Zoo admission and FREE for Members. Don’t miss the last Snow Day of the year!
