Saturday May. 4, 2013 - Member Morning: Special Flamingo Meet the Keeper Talk
Close
8:00 am

The Houston Zoo is open one hour early at 8:00 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month for Members only! Enjoy cooler weather and see animals just as they come outside for the day, a time of day when they are most active.

Member Mornings include a special Meet the Keeper Talk that begins at 8:30 a.m. – hear from one of our Zoo’s experts and gain professional insight about a select animal or area. Learn from the best in the field about what it really takes to care for the diverse animals that call the Zoo home!

Saturday May. 4, 2013 - Your Friendly (Or Not So Friendly) Neighborhood Snakes
Close
10:00 am3:00 pm

Snakes are helpful creatures in nature, feeding on nuisance mice and rats as well as insects that might otherwise bug you. Next time you find a snake in the grass, learn how to ID it and what to do at this upcoming event. We’ll have live local snakes including the dangerous ones – coral snake, copperhead, and moccasin/cottonmouth – in tanks for you to see safely. Talk with a local snake expert and get your questions answered! Head over to the Reptile & Amphibian Building for this event.

This event is included with your paid Zoo admission. This event is free for Zoo Members!
