The new naked mole rat exhibit in Natural Encounters is nearing completion!
Something new is coming to our Children's Zoo in place of the prairie dog exhibit. Stay tuned for details.
Saturday and Sunday April 20 and 21, celebrate Earth Day with us and learn how protecting our environment helps protect wildlife. All Earth Day activities are included with your paid Zoo admission. Earth Day is FREE for Zoo Members! We will have plenty of activities, crafts, music and more to make this Earth Day memorable!

Lions, tigers, and bears…oh my! Join Easter Seals Greater Houston at the Houston Zoo for our 2nd Annual Walk With Me event on Saturday, April 20, 2013! View giraffes, elephants, and more, as we venture along a 5K or shorter Family Fun Walk to raise awareness and resources for Easter Seals Greater Houston and its programs.
Following the Walk, we will continue the celebration with free live music, children’s activities, and food. After the event, all participants are welcome to stay and enjoy the Houston Zoo for the remainder of the day!

Meet our Carnivore Keepers when they demonstrate the safe way of camping and hiking in bear country during their fun and humorous skits. Come and join us for Bear Awareness Day on Saturday April 20th from 10 to 3 and learn how you can help not only save bears but the Earth as well.
