The Houston Zoo will be holding its annual Enrichment Day on September 19. From 10am to 3pm, guests can enjoy special Meet the Keeper Talks Presented by Phillips 66 to learn about enrichment at the Houston Zoo while watching the animals enjoy it at the same time! Guests can also participate in kid-friendly activities at Enrichment Central that are sure to entertain kids and adults alike!
This event is free with your paid Houston Zoo admission, and it is free for Zoo members!

Join us for “An African Forest Safari” Photo Day as we highlight a few of our African Forest ambassadors!

Photo Day allows photographers of all skill levels a chance to visit the Zoo and take great animal photos, all before the Zoo opens. Enjoy the cooler morning weather and lighter crowd, plus see the animals at a time of day when they are most active. Also included is a continental breakfast.
It’s World Elephant Day! Join us in celebrating these magnificent animals. Elephants are the largest land mammals in the world and among the most intelligent animals on earth. Unfortunately, Asian elephants are also among the world’s most endangered species. At the turn of the 20th century, more than 100,000 Asian elephants roamed their native habitat. Today, only approximately 40,000 Asian elephants remain in the wild.
