Event Description
Houston Zoo’s First Ever Home School Day
January 27, 2009
9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Join Houston Zoo Education Staff in an exciting day of animal programs, interesting biofact discovery, live animal encounters, and guided Zoo tours. There will be many presentations every hour and opportunities to meet and learn about some exciting Houston Zoo animals.
All participants must pre-register for this event. Entrace will be to the left of the Houston Zoo Main Entrance through the Education Center Gate (Gate 5).
Costs:
$4 ages 2 to 11
$8 ages 12+ and adults

Home School Day Presentations
Home School Day Presentations will be at the following times. Each presentation will be approximately 30 minutes.
9:45 Texas Animals - All Ages
9:45 Taxonomy - Ages 10 and up
10:15 Habitats - Ages 5 to 13
10:45 AniMeals - All Ages
11:15 Natural Beginnings - Ages 3 to 6
11:15 Hiding Out: Camouflage - Ages 5 to 13
11:45 Many Kinds of Animals - All Ages
12:15 Natural Beginnings - Ages 3 to 6
12:45 Reptiles - All Ages
1:15 Habitats - Ages 5 to 13
1:45 Rainforests - All Ages
1:45 Taxonomy - Ages 10 and up
2:15 Hiding Out: Camouflage - Ages 5 to 13
Home School Day Activities
Home School Day Activities will be available during following times. Participants are free to come and go throughout the scheduled times.
9:00 - 3:00 Animal Artifact Discovery - All Ages
9:30 - 11:00 Exploring Senses - Ages up to 10
11:30 - 1:00 Survival Gear: Adaptations - Ages 10 and up
1:30 - 3:00 Animal Enrichment - All Ages
