Join us on July 31st and learn about elephant diets, care, training, and more at our Elephant Open House!
For one morning only, the brand-new, state-of-the-art elephant barn will be open for you to explore. Each stall will highlight a different aspect of elephant care. Throughout the morning you'll be able to meet the keepers who care for our herd every day, and learn insights about these majestic animals who call the Houston Zoo home. The morning also includes a continental breakfast.

What time is the event?
The event begins at 8 a.m. and concludes at 10:30 a.m.
Where do I park?
Please park in our main parking lot, off Hermann Park Drive.
Where do I enter? Please enter through our main Zoo entrance. From there it's a short walk to the elephant barn.
Do I need a ticket to enter?
Please bring a copy of the confirmation letter you receive upon purchasing tickets.
Will there be food?
We will provide a light continental breakfast.
What's the dress code?
This is a casual event so please dress comfortably.
What happens if it rains?
This event is rain or shine.
Can I visit the Zoo after the event?
Yes! The Zoo opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m.
