It’s a Party for the Planet and you’re invited! Celebrate Earth Day with us and learn how protecting our environment helps protect wildlife. All Earth Day activities are included with your paid Zoo admission. Earth Day is FREE for Zoo Members! We will have plenty of activities, crafts, music and more to make this Earth Day memorable! Activities this year include:
- Earth Day Scavenger Hunt – learn fun facts about recycling, the Earth, and saving species as you make your way around the Zoo during our Earth Day Scavenger Hunt. Don’t forget to pick up your prize* in the Front Plaza when you’ve completed your hunt!
- Mother Earth Maze – put on your environmentally-conscious thinking cap and solve earth-friendly questions to make your way through the twists and turns of the Mother Earth Maze!
- Earth Day DJ – dance away your cares at the Reflection Pool!
- Reusable Mural – color the day away on our five foot tall coloring mural, a fun reusable art project!
- Race to Recycle – Beat the clock and place recyclable items in the correct containers!
- Bear Awareness Day (on Saturday only)
- Ladybug Release (on Sunday only)

Bear Awareness Day – Saturday Only
Don’t miss out on Bear Awareness Day! Meet our Carnivore Keepers near our grizzly and Andean bears for fun activities starting at 10 am. Learn how you can save not only bears, but the Earth as well.

Kids get to color their very own bear mask!
Earth Day in the Naturally Wild Swap Shop
The Naturally Wild Swap Shop will certainly be part of the celebration. Any nature journal on an Earth Day topic will receive double points. Earth Day topics include the following:
- endangered or extinct plants or animals
- edible plants
- the rock cycle
- the water cycle
- habitat loss and how it affects animals
