Many nations throughout the world celebrate Día del Niño, or Children’s Day, to honor and celebrate children who represent the hopes and dreams of every community. Bring the kids to the Houston Zoo on Sunday, April 30 for a Latin American celebration of music, games, and activities…created especially for kids!

10:15 a.m. – Green Anaconda at the Reptile & Amphibian House
10:30 a.m. – Mexican Beaded Lizard the Reptile & Amphibian House
10:30 a.m. – Prehensile-tailed Porcupine at the Naturally Wild Swap Shop
11:00 a.m. – Green-winged macaw at Carruth Natural Encounters.
11:30 a.m. – Piranha at Carruth Natural Encounters
11:30 a.m. – Cougars
12:00 p.m. – Howler Monkeys at Wortham World of Primates
1:00 p.m. – Indoor Rainforest at Carruth Natural Encounters
2:00 p.m. – Jaguars
2:30 p.m. – Patagonian Mara at the Naturally Wild Swap Shop
2:30 p.m. – South American animals (Look for #10 on your Zoo map)
3:30 p.m. – Howler Monkeys at Wortham World of Primates

This special fiesta is included with your paid Zoo admission, and it is free for Zoo Members!

Don’t miss out on these events that connect the dots between the animals you visit here and the plight of their species in the wild.

Spotlight on Species: Tapirs

Activities include:

  • Special Meet the Keeper Talks presented by Phillips 66
  • Zoo keeper led activities and a selfie station

Spotlight on Species: Colombian Animals
Saturday, April 29 ONLY
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Activities include:

  • Special Meet the Keeper Talks presented by Phillips 66
  • A mini-parade made up of guests in honor of the cotton-top tamarin at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Enjoy family fun activities, plus learn all about these amazing animals and how to help save them in the wild.

All of these activities are included in Zoo admission and free for Zoo members.
