Buy your tickets before you arrive. Purchase discount Zoo tickets at any of the 33 Fiesta Mart stores across the Houston area. Visit the courtesy booth of any Fiesta Mart in the Houston area to purchase an adult Zoo admission for $11 and a child Zoo admission for $8.
Lone Star Card Admissions
The Houston Zoo’s Lone Star Card admission program allows free Houston Zoo admission for card holders receiving SNAP and WIC benefits only. Admission to the Houston Zoo is free (limit 5 persons - 2 adults/3 children of the same address household - per visit), for residents presenting their valid current original award letter for SNAP or valid current award letter WIC shopping list (documents must show current benefit start date and benefit end expiration date, no photocopies or faxes will be accepted) and a valid photo ID (Texas Drivers License or Texas Department of Public Safety photo ID card ONLY) to confirm card holder status and same address household. The Lone Star Card holder of record must accompany their party. Tickets issued day of visit only; no advance tickets will be issued. Offer not valid for ticketed special events.

Save $2 off an adult Zoo admission and $1 off a child’s admission when you present your METRO Q Card or any METRO bus or METRORail ticket at the Zoo admission booth (one offer per person).
Carpooling and riding the METRO bus or METRORail system are good alternatives to navigating a parking spot.
You can catch METRORail at the Fannin South Park & Ride lot, located at 1604 West Bellfort (between Knight and Fannin). Or you can park downtown and catch METRORail at any of the downtown rail stations.
Two METRORail stations serve the Zoo and Hermann Park: Hermann Park/Rice U Station at Fannin and Sunset, or the Memorial Hermann Hospital/Houston Zoo Station on Fannin between North MacGregor and Ross Sterling. Military Discounts
Admission to the Houston Zoo is free for active duty military personnel and their families (limit 5 persons - 2 adults/3 children - per visit, effective July 1, 2009). A valid Military ID must be shown. Offer not valid for ticketed special events.

The Zoo ‘Rack Card’ available in most hotels and many restaurants in Houston as well as the Zoo Guest Relations office features a $1 per ticket (6 ticket maximum) discount coupon.
Bank of America cardholders receive one free general admission on the first full weekend of each month. A photo ID and valid Bank of America/Merrill Lynch credit or debit card must be presented. One free general admission limited to cardholder. Excludes fund raising events, special exhibitions, and ticketed shows.

Triple A members presenting a photo ID and their AAA membership card receive $2 off an adult admission, $1 off a child admission and half off tickets for the Zoo’s Wildlife Carousel.
The Houston Zoo also maintains discounts for employees of the Johnson Space Center (our Attwater’s Prairie Chicken breeding facility is located at JSC), and employees of Texas Medical Center institutions including Kelsey Seybold, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital and The M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Employees presenting an employee photo ID receive $2 off an adult admission and $1 off a child admission, maximum 6 tickets total per visit.
