Camp Zoofari Ages 10-12

Destination Conservation - $425
Partner with the planet and the Houston Zoo as you find out what it takes to be a wildlife conservationist.  Enjoy hands-on conservation activities and conduct genuine field work using some of the same tools field biologists use, and meet Zoo staff members who participate in conservation projects around the globe.  A Thursday night overnight is included.

NEW! Keeper Camp - $425
Enroll for zookeeper boot camp and learn what it's like to feed, clean, train, and take care of our animals.  This is one time it will be okay to get dirty and messy!
 
Note for Keeper Camp only: Due to the close interactions campers will be experiencing with animals in our collection, all campers registered for Keeper Camp must be TB tested to ensure their safety as well as the safety of our animals.  On the first day of camp, please bring a copy of your TB test results with you.  Test results must be negative to participate in Keeper Camp.

We'll research how animal variations are passed on to the next generation, how species adapt to their environmnet, and the importance of these differences in keeping populations healthy.

NEW! Zoobots - $325
Build your own zoo complete with animals!  Create a large-scale zoo animal, design its exhibit, and present your project to Zoo staff.  A Thursday night overnight is included.

Registration Information

Registration dates are determined by Zoo membership level.  You may upgrade your membership by visiting www.houstonzoo.org/membership.
 
 
There will be multiple sections of ALL full day camps each week.  Special requests to pair relatives or friends together must be made in writing at least 1 week in advance to the start date of the camp.  Roster changes will NOT be made at any time during camp, including check-in.  Children must be the same age and registered for the same camp.  Requests are not guaranteed, and no exceptions to class sizes will be made.  Please send all requests to our Education Department.
 
IMPORTANT: Camps may be sold out before noted on the website. Please click Register to check for camp availability. If the camp you are looking for does not appear in the drop down list, then the camp is sold out.
