We're Going "Ape"ril!
We’re celebrating apes all month long!
During “Ape”ril we’ll be featuring chimpanzees, orangutans, and siamangs, with activities like ape-themed online contests, an ape Spotlight on Species, and a Wild Wink Overnight in Tommy’s Treehouse. We’ll also have a special ape giveaway for each child who visits the Zoo this month**

Thursday and Friday, April 7 and 8: Zoobilee
5 pm – 8 pm
• Zoobilee is where Members come out to play! This year, the annual Members-only event will feature apes!

Saturday and Sunday, April 16 and 17: Waste Management Earth Day
9 am – 3 pm
• It’s a Party for the Planet and you’re invited! This year’s Earth Day event will also feature apes. Activities will include an Endangered Species Scavenger Hunt and Pin the Tail on the Monkey.

Saturday, April 30 – Spotlight on Species

• The Houston Zoo’s Keepers will put the spotlight on apes, with activities, education, and fundraising for ape conservation

Ape Call Challenge!
The Houston Zoo wants to hear your best Ape call.
Publish a short video of your best ape impression and enter our Ape Call Challenge.
We will pick one lucky contestant to be our 2011 Ape Call Challenge Champion. The winner will receive one Chimp Adopt an Animal and have their video posted on the official Houston Zoo You Tube Channel.
