Use the web to find conservation and other information. The internet is a great place to start—but you have to specify what you are looking for. The best and most accurate information will be found on websites of zoos, natural history museums, universities, well-known conservation organizations, and government agencies.
If you don't know the scientific name of the animal you are researching, try an online encyclopedia such as the University of Michigan's Animal Diversity Web. For example, if you are interested in bears, you could narrow your search to black bears and type in their scientific name Ursus americanus to avoid getting not-so-helpful sites that might include teddy bears, the Chicago Bears, and so on.
