Admissions Increase December 15, 2010

 
Effective December 15, 2011, Houston Zoo adult and child general admission ticket prices increased by one dollar each. Admission prices for tickets purchased at the Zoo admission booths will be $13 for adults (age 12 to 64) and $9 for children (age 2 to 12). Admission prices for seniors will increase by 50 cents to $7. Children under two years of age are always admitted free of charge.
 

Houston Zoo Coupons and Special Discounts

The Houston Zoo offers free admission to our guests on the first Tuesday of every month from 2 p.m. until closing. 
 
The Zoo continues to offer discounted admission tickets through a partnership with Fiesta Mart grocery stores.  Houston Zoo admission tickets may be purchased at the courtesy booths of all 33 Fiesta Mart stores throughout the greater Houston area for $11 for adults and $8 for children
 
The Zoo will also continue a 20 year tradition of free field trip admission for the students of public and private schools within the city limits of Houston.
 
The Zoo will also continue its policy of free admission for active duty military personnel and their immediate family. 
 
The Zoo’s free admission for recipients of SNAP benefits will also continue.
 

More Coupons and Special Discounts


METRO
Zoo guests can save $2 off an adult Zoo admission and $1 off a child’s admission when they present their METRO Q Card or any METRO bus or METRORail ticket at the Zoo admission booth (one offer per person). METRORail METRO buses are a convenient answer to traffic congestion in the Texas Medical Center/Hermann Park/Museum District corridor.  For METRO information, visit www.ridemetro.org.
 
Zoo Brochure ‘Rack Card’
The Zoo ‘Rack Card’ available in most hotels and many restaurants in Houston as well as the Zoo Guest Relations office features a $1 per ticket (6 ticket maximum) discount coupon.
 
Bank of America Museums on Us
Bank of America cardholders receive one free general admission on the first full weekend of each month.  A photo ID and valid Bank of America/Merrill Lynch credit or debit card must be presented.  One free general admission limited to cardholder. Excludes fund raising events, special exhibitions, and ticketed shows.
 
Rice University Students
Present a valid current student ID and receive free admission.  Limit one free admission per student per visit.
 
St. Thomas University Students
Present a valid current student ID and receive free admission.
Limit one free admission per student per visit.
 
Houston Community College System Students
Present a valid current student ID and receive $2 off each ticket, limit one discount ticket per student per visit.

AAA (American Automobile Association)
Triple A members presenting a photo ID and their AAA membership card receive $2 off an adult admission, $1 off a child admission and half off tickets for the Zoo’s Wildlife Carousel.
 
Other Discounts
The Houston Zoo also maintains discounts for employees of the Johnson Space Center (our Attwater’s Prairie Chicken breeding facility is located at JSC), and employees of Texas Medical Center institutions including Kelsey Seybold, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital and The M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.  Employees presenting an employee photo ID receive $2 off an adult admission and $1 off a child admission, maximum 6 tickets total per visit.
