With its lush tropical environment and more than 4,500 animals, the Houston Zoo is the perfect place for a family to reconnect with itself and nature. The Houston Zoo would like to help families struggling to provide recreational outings through our ACCESS PROGRAM.
Admission to the Houston Zoo is free (limit 5 persons - 2 adults/3 children of the same household - per visit, effective July 1, 2009) for residents presenting their valid current award letter and a valid photo ID (Texas Drivers License or Texas Department of Public Safety photo ID card) to confirm card holder status. The Lone Star Card holder of record must accompany their party. Tickets issued day of visit only; no advance tickets will be issued. Offer not valid for ticketed special events.

Military Discount:
Admission to the Houston Zoo is free for active duty military personnel and their families (limit 5 persons - 2 adults/3 children - per visit, effective July 1, 2009). A valid Military ID must be shown. Offer not valid for ticketed special events. Military personnel must be present or spouse must present valid spousal ID.
