 2009 Beastly Battle Winners:

First Place: Gumbo Bar - Galveston Island
Second Place: Taste of Texas
Third Place: The Capital Grille

Launched in the fall of 2006 as a fundraiser for the Houston Zoo, Feast with the Beasts was an instant hit! The Zoo’s naturally wild environment and 4,500 animals offer an unprecedented venue for this wine and food event.

The 2006 event had 33 restaurant participants. The event has grown to feature 50 Houston-area restaurants, all serving their best dish.

In 2008 we added the Beastly Battle – a chance for guests to vote for their favorite cuisine. This popular addition will be back for this year's Feast with the Beasts. Will Taste of Texas take home top honors again this year?

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, an internationally-known swing band with smash hits “You & Me & The Bottle Makes Three Tonight (Baby)” and “Go Daddy-O”, adds a new and exciting musical element to the event.

The Houston Zoo is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a fun, unique, and inspirational experience fostering appreciation, knowledge, and care for the natural world. Fundraising is essential to the Houston Zoo, and we could not continue our mission without support from the Houston community.

Feast with the Beasts is not only a much-talked about and well-loved annual event, but also one of the Houston Zoo’s largest fundraisers of the year. This event raised almost $1,000,000 in its first three years! All money raised goes to the Houston Zoo’s conservation, education, and animal care programs.
